Winter Freight The British Rail class 22 or ” Baby Warship” was a class of diesil-hydraulic locomotives designed for the Western Region and built by the North British Locomotive Works. Introduced in 1959, deliveries continued until 1962 and allocated to Bristol Bath Road, Laira Plymouth, Newton Abbot and Old Oak Common. Neville Robinson has painted this class 22 entering Umberleigh in the Winter of 1963 on a mixed “Winter Freight”, the line is still open to this day albeit in mostly single track and runs from Exeter St. Davids to Barnstaple on what is affectionately known as the “Tarka Line” Print Size is 15 x 12 inches aprox and when mounted will fit a standard 20 x 16 inch frame
