Round 5 of the 1971 European Formula Two championship was at London?s own motor racing circuit, Crystal Palace on 31^st May. Favourite for the race was Ronnie Peterson in the works March 712M. The race was run in two heats and a final. Peterson was comfortably leading his heat when a fuel pipe detached forcing him into the pits. He qualified for the final and drove a strong race in an ill-handling car, eventually finishing third behind Emerson Fittipaldi and Tim Schenken. Here Ronnie is featured powering his way out of North Tower Bend.
