Description
Round 5 of the 1971 European Formula Two championship was at London?s own motor racing circuit, Crystal Palace on 31st May. Favourite for the race was Ronnie Peterson in the works March 712M. The race was run in two heats and a final. Peterson was comfortably leading his heat when a fuel pipe detached forcing him into the pits. He qualified for the final and drove a strong race in an ill-handling car, eventually finishing third behind Emerson Fittipaldi and Tim Schenken. Here Ronnie is featured powering his way out of North Tower Bend.
